I went nuts and entered a bunch of photo challenges this week (entered under "Ectopic Lens"). Take a peak:

absent. #42
embracing. #50
fast.
boy. #501
school. #77
reflection (posted under "kollins"). #60
violet (one under ectopic, one under kollins).

I also added thumbnails and a bunch of new pictures to my photo site. I'm sure the thumbnails will take a while to load though.
THUMBNAILS.

Rumaging through photos I found this:

I figure there could be two interpretations:
1) The REAL Randall. We hear a lot of talk about Sony VEGA TV's and state of the art technology..... but it's really just an old 10" tv sitting on a cooler.
or
2) You just can't keep a good man down. Take away his TV. Take away his stereo. EVEN take away his tv stand. But he's still going to find a way to FTP "things" from a laptop to an xbox hooked up to an old tv sitting on a beer cooler!

Anyway, I posted some pictures of recent iChat's in case anyone wanted to show people how cool "the other side" can be. And by that I mean Apple computers, not homosexuality. Not that ......never mind, not even going to go there. Click on the picture of Randall to link to the iChat pics.

This is a shot of the Crystal Cathedral in Irvine, CA. You can see the sun shining through the glass, illuminating the complex framework inside the cathedral. I like this photo mostly because the photo doesn't look rectangular; it plays tricks on your eyes (particularly the larger version). Click Here or on the photo for the full-size version.

I posted this for TWO photo challenges. Click on the image for the larger version and the links to the challenges if you'd like to vote for them.

The event: Slaughterama!
The contest: Lots of people on bicycles riding in narrow circles chugging a six packs of beer as fast as they can. The person to finish first and not fall off their bike wins. This picture is near the end of this particular contest. At the start there were probably ten times this number of bicycles in a circle measuring maybe 20 x 30 ft.

Heidi, my Dad, my sister Eileen, and I stumbled upon this event in Richmond while going on a walk on a popular island/park near Heidi's apartment. Lots of custom bicyles, lots of crazy events. Good times, good times.

Because every photoblog needs a little cloud porn.

Actually, I'm posting because I recently started following Hong Kong Daily Photo, a cool photoblog centering around posting photos of Hong Kong. I found out today that it's actually part of a large network of similar blogs, from Greenville to Rheingau. When I saw that there's even one for Aliso Viejo, I almost spit my drink out! Aliso is little more than a small suburb in orange county, but I have to admit it's pretty cool the guy loves his city enough to focus a photoblog within its city limits...

I posted a picture for the photo challenge site PXITE for their theme "mountain" which you can view (and vote for if you like it!) HERE.
Here's a picture from the photo excursion Randall & I took yesterday to a carnival we found in Norfolk:
Exciting stuff, too bad I'm leaving just as things get good... I'm happy though, it means that EVMS will have a strong community for years to come. Click here or on the photo above for the larger photo.

Sorry no text posts recently, not a whole lot interesting going on in my life. Just gearing up/down for graduation, and returning to California. Really, I should be doing things like packing and throwing away junk, but that stuff is just so easy to procrastinate on...

I figure nothing in my life is organized, except maybe for the texts I keep on my bookshelf.

So the noise in my camera is killing me. I found out tonight that I had been using "fine" instead of "superfine," so the JPG compression was set to 8/12. Ouch. I bumped it up to superfine, and really, I can't tell that much of a difference. It's still noisy. Grr. I need a nicer camera.
